MGW12C / MGW12H Wide Miniature Linear Guide | 12 mm

The MGW12 is the widest of the small miniature sizes and the most common MGW in automation. The 24 mm rail gives a stable base for an offset load, and the extended H block adds mounting length where a bracket would otherwise overhang.

Options

  • Stainless steel block, rail, balls and retainer
  • Dust protection: wiper and end seal
  • Grease nipple on the end cap (15 size)
  • Bolt caps to close the rail mounting holes

Where this block is used

The wide rail raises resistance to overturning moment at the same nominal size. It fits cantilevered heads, single-rail axes and carriages where the load hangs off the side of the rail rather than sitting on top of it.

Mounting: rails and blocks are bolted to machined faces. Rail bolts are tightened from the centre outwards in the sequence given in the catalogue, and running accuracy is checked with a dial gauge before the carriage is loaded. Lubrication is by grease nipple or oil port; the re-greasing interval follows load and duty cycle, so it is agreed with the customer rather than fixed on the datasheet.

Matching rail

MGW12 rail rail is cut to order from 100 mm. See rail options.

FAQ

How is MGW different from MGN?MGW uses a wider rail at the same size number, so it takes a larger overturning moment. Choose MGW when the load is offset from the rail centreline.
Is the rail stainless?Yes. Block, rail, balls and retainer are stainless steel, as with the MGN series.
What is the difference between C and H?C is the standard block length, H is the extended block. H spreads the mounting load over a longer base; it is not a heavier load class.
