Linear Guides for Laser Cutting and Engraving Machines
Laser machines combine high speed with fine positioning, and the working area is full of smoke and debris. The guide has to stay smooth while the wipers keep particles off the raceway. MGN handles the head; HG handles the gantry on larger beds.
What goes wrong on this axis
- Smoke and fine debris reaching the rail surface
- Heat near the cutting head affecting lubrication
- Position repeatability across a large bed
Recommended series
MGN miniature guide
Fast, light heads on 7 to 15 mm rails.
HG ball guide
Heavy gantries and beds from 15 to 30 mm.
PG position-measuring guide
Where the controller needs direct position feedback.

FAQ
| Will smoke damage the guide? | Smoke itself is less of a problem than condensed residue and dust. Use wipers (ZZ as a minimum) and, on machines cutting coated or composite material, KK with a metal scraper. |
| Do I need a self-lubricating guide? | On machines that run long shifts without a grease schedule, a self-lubricating series reduces the risk of a dry raceway. It does not replace wipers. |
| Can the guide take the heat near the head? | The guide is normally mounted away from the cut zone. Tell us the ambient temperature at the rail and we will check the lubrication choice. |
